A stunning custom wine bar for Nashville collectors

When Stephanie and Joe Hagan moved into their new home, they had big ideas for the dining room. After all, the couple loves to entertain and they have an extensive collection of fine wine and unusual spirits. Their vision was to turn the dining area into a stylish home bar, designed to store and showcase their vintages.

“We wanted something awe-inspiring — something that would be an experience for people coming into our home.”
Joe Hagan
How California Closets did it
The Hagans had worked with California Closets Nashville design consultant JT Morin on their previous home, so they knew he already understood their design aesthetic. And that he did, turning one entire wall into the home bar of the Hagans' dreams.
Custom features, such as the white lit countertop, stand out, flanked by six rows of elegantly illuminated wine racks with room to properly display 81 bottles.
Shelving above the bar top includes puck-lit glass-front cabinets that display special spirits while solid-front cabinets and drawers conceal glassware, cocktail napkins, and other happy hour essentials. To complete the look, a dark wood finish and matte silver hardware achieve a sophisticated club-like atmosphere.

“The dedication from the whole team was amazing. Their adaptability with changes that had to be made, the friendliness of the workers, and how they actually treated our house with pride and respect, all of that meant a lot to us.””

Final result
With a shared vision, JT and the Hagans collaborated to create the ideal space in which to share memories with close friends and family. “JT made it even better than we could have possibly imagined,” says Joe. “Out of all the things we’ve ever built, this has been the greatest.”
