Indycar racer Pato O’Ward’s winning display

Earning his first career victory in 2021 at the Texas Motor Speedway, INDYCAR® racer Pato O’Ward had a major championship under his belt — but nowhere to showcase the trophy. After fellow racer Felix Rosenqvist recommended he meet with Erin Moore of California Closets Indianapolis, Pato reached out with his own request: transform his new home’s basement space with a dedicated design to showcase his Texas trophy and extensive collection of racing memorabilia.

“This is a thoughtful design that gives the perfect space for his items to stand out and shine—a true showstopper.”

How California Closets did it
Erin wasted no time getting started. Incorporated within a larger seating and TV area, the custom wall unit needed to flow with the room at large while easily housing Pato’s various helmets, racing suits, and trophies. After taking careful inventory and measurements, she designed a balanced and versatile solution that features open cubbies and display cabinets for the most important pieces — including that Texas trophy and his winning suit.

“It turned out exactly how I wanted it, but exceeded my expectations.”

Final result
A show-stopping design lets Pato’s career accomplishments take center stage. Rich wood tones paired with matte gold hardware blend seamlessly with the room, while thoughtfully placed lighting adds illumination and dimension, finally giving Pato’s victories the spotlight they deserve.
